Elements define an Arcana Beast's innate power and affect battle effectiveness through Boost and Setback mechanics.
In battle, depending on the match-up between the Element of an attack and the Element of the defending Arcana Beast, the attack may be made with Setback or Boost.
If the attacking Element is strong against the defender's Element, the attack roll gains Boost.
If the attacking Element is weak against the defender's Element, the attack roll suffers Setback.
When using Special Attacks, compare the Attack Element to the defender's Innate Element.
Every Element is strong against exactly two Elements and weak against exactly two. There is no neutral Element โ each Arcana Beast is bound to one of the fifteen.
